KONEKTE has been paying teacher salaries at College Mixte Marius Carnold for 10 years. We fund teacher salaries to provide a continuity of education to the students, increased staff retention and job security to the teachers. A teacher in Haiti typically earns less than $250 a month.
We provide ongoing teacher training to our teachers and have covered topics such as early childhood education, learning styles, project based learning, reading, language, physical fitness, art, math and science. Our programs have been very well attended with up to 30 teachers sharing ideas and experiences through lively discussion. We send materials and supplies, and fund improvements to school buildings for teachers to work in a better environment.
